St Andrews Halwa

Family reunion - Topped with St Andrews Halwa
Starting with bread with fish molly

Have you heard of St Andrews halwa? Even if you're from Trivandrum, the chances of hearing this type of halwa is remote. I wonder how St Andrews Halwa got it's unique recipe. Is there a Portuguese or any other influence. I think St Andrews is a cusp of various culinary influences from Portegese, Ceylon, Singapore, Malaysia and our regional Kerala flavor.

Here you can see a spread of  Bread and Stew with cutlets and the most tasty St Andrews Halwa

Is this St. Andrews halwa a cream coloured halwa made from milk by any chance???? I ate it years back at some function in b'lore, it was absolutely delicious. I have been searching for it ever since. The only clue I had was that it was from Trivandrum but even most people from Trivandrum didnt know anything abt it.

p.s: came here from google looking for a ladies finger in coconut milk curry & chanced upon this post:-).

Yes, it is made from milk, maida, sugar, ghee. As you said, only few know about this unique halwa. I think it's available at St Andrews.

Many people from abroad has asked for it. I'm thinking of sending it across to them..
